Senior Full Stack Engineer
About the role
Why you would like it:
- Build meaningful product in a complex, high-trust domain
- Work across frontend, backend, AI, APIs, and security
- Join an early-stage product team with real ownership
- Auckland-based 4 days in office
- Solve nuanced workflow problems with sensitive data at scale
This is a chance to join a growing Auckland-based product team building a modern platform for a professional services environment that is ready for change.
You’ll work across the full stack on a product that replaces manual processes, disconnected systems, and slow handovers with clearer, smarter, and more secure digital workflows. The work is technically varied, with no shortage of interesting problems across AI, security, integrations, permissions, and user experience.
This is not a “take a ticket and build it” environment. You’ll work closely with the CTO and domain experts to shape how features should work, how systems should scale, and how sensitive data should be handled with care.
Company profile:
This is an early-stage technology business solving complex operational challenges for high-growth organisations and their people. The team has already proven strong demand, built a custom platform, and is now investing further in product and engineering capability.
You’ll be joining a small, capable team that values ownership, clear communication, practical problem-solving, and high standards. It will suit someone who enjoys ambiguity, cares about outcomes, and wants their work to have a direct impact on customers and internal teams.
The role:
You’ll be responsible for:
- Building across a modern TypeScript, React, and PostgreSQL stack
- Shipping product features across frontend, backend, AI, and third-party APIs
- Designing secure workflows for sensitive personal and business data
- Working on permission models, data isolation, and access controls
- Exploring where LLMs can genuinely improve accuracy, productivity, and quality
- Building internal tools, drafting systems, review workflows, and feedback loops
- Integrating with external platforms, including HRIS and operational systems
- Partnering with non-technical experts to turn complex processes into scalable product features
- Contributing to technical decisions alongside the CTO as the platform grows
You’ll likely bring:
- 5+ years’ experience building software products
- Strong TypeScript, React, and SQL database experience
- Experience across full-stack product engineering
- Exposure to AI, LLMs, or AI-enabled product features
- A practical understanding of security, privacy, and permissions
- Experience in SaaS, startups, or product-led environments
- Clear communication and confidence working with non-technical stakeholders
- Strong product instincts and care for user experience
- A bias for ownership, delivery, and thoughtful problem-solving
