About the role

The Opportunity:

This is a hands-on Product Owner role for someone who enjoys the full product lifecycle, from understanding user needs through to shaping delivery, managing trade-offs, and supporting releases.

You’ll be the person who brings clarity when priorities compete. One day you might be balancing sprint scope with the Tech Lead and Scrum Master; the next, you could be triaging BAU issues, gathering client feedback, or turning usage data into better product decisions.

It’s a role with genuine ownership. You’ll influence how the product evolves, help the team focus on the right work, and make sure stakeholders understand the “why” behind decisions.

This role is based in Dunedin. 

The Role:

• Own product subject matter expertise across users, functionality and design intent 
• Capture user and client feedback through interviews, insights and data 
• Maintain and prioritise product, project, BAU and maintenance backlogs 
• Define requirements, specifications and user experience for proposed solutions 
• Work with the Tech Lead to shape ticket backlogs and risk considerations 
• Balance sprint priorities across project work, incidents and BAU needs 
• Support the Scrum Master to keep active sprints clear and moving 
• Decide release contents, write release notes and support issue triage 
• Communicate clearly with users, clients and internal stakeholders 

• Experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or Business Analyst
• Must have experience working within the health industry  
• Confident working in agile delivery environments with sprints and backlogs 
• Able to prioritise well when urgency, value and risk all compete 
• Clear communicator who can translate complexity for different audiences
