The opportunity:

This is a permanent role for a senior developer who wants real ownership, not just tickets. You’ll join a growing in-house engineering team responsible for a core financial services platform that supports the full customer lifecycle, from applications and assessments through to servicing and collections.

The team is moving with clear executive support, strong investment, and a funded roadmap. There is plenty to build, improve and modernise, but this is not a role for someone who needs everything tightly packaged before starting. You’ll be expected to think commercially, ask useful questions, and carry work through from idea to implementation.

You’ll be joining a stable Auckland-based financial services organisation with a small, experienced technology team. Development has been brought in-house, giving the engineering team more influence over product direction, delivery quality and long-term platform decisions.

The role:
  • Design, build and enhance full-stack features across a core lending platform 
  • Work across .NET, Azure, SQL Server, Vue.js and related web technologies 
  • Translate business, functional and non-functional requirements into working solutions 
  • Contribute to solution design, technical specifications and engineering standards 
  • Support deployments, defect resolution, small changes and operational improvements 
  • Improve DevOps, CI/CD and automated testing practices where useful 
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, project teams and external partners 
  • Provide technical leadership, particularly across front-end development 
Your fit:
  • You have around 10+ years’ commercial software development experience 
  • You’re strong across Microsoft technologies, including C#, .NET, Azure and SQL Server 
  • You have good front-end capability, ideally with Vue.js and/or Umbraco integration 
  • You understand Agile delivery, modern architecture and practical DevOps practices 
  • You take ownership from assignment through to implementation 
  • You communicate well with technical and non-technical stakeholders 
  • Financial services, lending or regulated industry experience would be useful 
  • You’re curious about emerging tools, including AI-assisted development
