Commercial Analyst

3-Month Contract | Auckland | Immediate Start

We're partnering with a well-established New Zealand organisation undertaking a significant commercial transformation and are seeking an experienced Commercial Analyst to join the team on a 3-month contract.

This is an Auckland-based contract where you'll work closely with commercial, buying and leadership teams to deliver analysis and insights that support key business decisions and strategic initiatives.

Please note: Applicants must be based in Auckland and hold full New Zealand working rights (NZ Citizen, Permanent Resident or a valid work visa with unrestricted working rights).

What you'll be doing

• Deliver financial and commercial analysis across product categories and suppliers
  
  
• Produce reporting and insights to support commercial and negotiation strategies
  
  
• Analyse pricing, product range optimisation and commercial performance
  
  
• Measure and report on the impact of commercial initiatives
  
  
• Support project delivery through data analysis, reporting and stakeholder engagement
  
  
• Enhance reporting capability and identify opportunities for process improvement
  
  
• Provide ad hoc commercial analysis to support key business decisions
  
  

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Commercial Analyst, Business Analyst or Financial Analyst
  
  
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse large datasets and present meaningful commercial insights
  
  
• Experience within FMCG, retail, wholesale or another commercially focused environment
  
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
  
  
• High attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger commercial picture
  
  
• A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  
  

Experience with SAP, Cognos, GCP or similar reporting and analytics platforms will be highly regarded.

A qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline is advantageous but not essential.
