The opportunity
This is a role for a Lead Front End Engineer who cares deeply about how digital experiences look, feel, behave and perform.
You’ll be joining a creative, community-led environment where the digital experience really matters. The work reaches passionate users who are genuinely immersed in the brand, so this role needs someone who brings that same level of care, curiosity and love for the craft.
You won’t just be handed tickets. You’ll help shape what gets built, how it works, and how it should evolve.
The role
You’ll lead front-end direction across product interfaces, websites, campaign experiences and internal tools. Expect a mix of hands-on engineering, UX input, technical decision-making and delivery ownership.
You’ll be responsible for:
* Leading front-end design, build and delivery across key digital surfaces
* Building clean, scalable and maintainable UI using modern front-end technologies
* Creating reusable components, patterns and front-end systems
* Working closely with product, design, backend and creative teams
* Making sound decisions around architecture, performance and user experience
* Challenging ideas constructively when there’s a better way forward
* Being pragmatic about what should be rebuilt versus refined
* Owning your work through release, optimisation and ongoing improvement
The skills and experience we need you to bring
* Strong front-end engineering experience across modern web applications
* Solid skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and a modern framework such as React or Vue
* Experience working with APIs, component architecture and production-grade systems
* Good understanding of responsive design, performance, accessibility and browser behaviour
* Confidence contributing to UX and product decisions
* Ability to take ownership and enjoy solving complex problems
* Strategic thinking, balanced with practical delivery
* Strong collaboration skills and a focus on technical excellence
* A genuine eye for detail and care for polished user experiences
You’ll stand out if you have experience with WordPress, motion or interaction design, design systems, Figma, campaign pages or content-heavy websites.
