About the role

The Opportunity:

This is a rare chance to join a New Zealand-born product business building software that supports complex operations across agriculture, horticulture, viticulture, pest control and emergency response.

The platform is used at serious scale, supporting thousands of jobs each month across millions of hectares globally. It is practical, field-tested technology, built for environments where reliability, performance and usability matter.

Company Profile:

You will be joining a growing product organisation with teams across New Zealand, Australia and the US. The business is customer-led, engineering-focused and close to the real-world problems its software solves.

The culture is pragmatic and collaborative. Decisions are made close to the work, and engineers have a clear line of sight between what they build and how it performs in the field.

Why you Would Like It:

  • Real‑world impact: Your work helps coordinate firefighting, pest control, and precision agriculture, not just internal tools or dashboards.
  • Core, high‑ownership role: You’ll have genuine ownership of critical systems and a voice in key technical decisions.
  • Customer proximity: Regular contact with end users and the option to go on‑site/ride‑alongs, so you can see the immediate impact of what you build.
  • Modern product company environment: Fast‑moving but focused on doing things well, with flexibility, wellness incentives, and long‑service leave as part of the offering.
  • Great team: regular get togethers over lunch, a run or sharing ideas

The Role:

As Senior C++ Developer, you will work across core platform components that support job management, in-vehicle systems and field-based workflows.

You will be involved in:
  • Building and maintaining high-performance C++ components
  • Working with geospatial computation, offline workflows and real-time data sync
  • Improving reliability across rural, remote and device-constrained environments
  • Contributing to architectural direction as the platform scales
  • Debugging, profiling and optimising systems that process large volumes of data
  • Supporting code quality and technical standards across the wider engineering team
  • Occasional field visits to better understand how the product performs in real use
  • This is a hands-on role with influence, ownership and plenty of technical depth.

Your Fit:

You will bring strong commercial C++ experience and a practical approach to building robust software.

You will likely have:
  • 5+ years’ professional C++ development experience
  • A Computer Science degree, related qualification, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong systems programming skills
  • Experience working with large data volumes and near real-time processing
  • Good understanding of network protocols, file I/O and device constraints
  • Experience in production environments where reliability and maintainability matter
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work through complex technical problems

If you enjoy building software that is used in demanding real-world environments, please apply now or get in touch with to find out more.
