About the role

The Opportunity:

This is a high-impact, 6-month engagement where you'll build something meaningful from the ground up, then hand over the keys. If you thrive on getting in, making a tangible difference, and moving on, this is for you.

We're working with a business that needs to establish a robust line 1 technology risk capability – and they need someone who can do it without hand-holding. You'll be working in a space where frameworks exist but tech risk maturity is underdeveloped. Your mission? Identify risks, implement controls, and create a sustainable cadence that meaningfully reduces their risk profile.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Developing and maturing the line 1 tech risk capability that's currently in progress
• Identifying technology and IT risks across the organisation and determining appropriate controls 
• Developing and implementing risk mitigation actions with clear ownership and accountability 
• Working collaboratively with stakeholders to embed a risk management cadence 
• Establishing assurance processes and control frameworks that stick 
• Focusing on risk identification, control design, and ongoing assurance activities 

What You'll Bring:

• Proven experience as a Technology Risk Manager in a fast paced regulated environment
• Strong knowledge of risk frameworks and how to apply them in real-world settings 
• Experience in financial services is highly beneficial 
• Exposure to cyber risk management and associated controls 
• The ability to influence, engage, and drive outcomes across multiple stakeholders
