The Role:

We're partnering with a leading financial services organisation to find an experienced Solution Architect who thrives at the intersection of strategy and delivery. This isn't your typical build-focused architecture role – it's a senior, influential position where you'll shape roadmaps, define transition states, and ensure solution decisions are strategically aligned and future-ready.

You'll work on complex transformation programmes with genuine organisational impact, translating strategic intent into clear architectural direction. This is an opportunity to operate at a strategic level, partner with senior stakeholders, and establish governance foundations that enable sustainable change.

What You'll Do:

• Shape and refine programme roadmaps alongside Strategic and Enterprise Architects
• Define transition states and high-level solution architectures that enable delivery towards agreed target states
• Provide architectural governance across initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and strategic objectives
• Lead options analysis and deliver well-reasoned recommendations that balance strategic fit, risk, cost and long-term value
• Ensure solution designs are integrated, cohesive and fit within the wider technology landscape
• Embed service design and customer journey insights into architectural decision-making
• Support business case development by articulating architectural benefits, impacts and dependencies
• Maintain strong traceability between strategy, roadmap objectives and solution decisions
• Influence prioritisation, manage dependencies and guide sequencing across multiple initiatives
• Develop and maintain architectural patterns, standards and reference materials

What You'll Bring:

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect within large-scale transformation environments
• Demonstrated capability in strategy development, roadmap planning and governance-led architecture
• Experience defining transition states and high-level architectures in complex, evolving environments
• Confidence working with ambiguity and providing clarity at senior levels
• Strong understanding of integration, data architecture and cloud platforms
• Experience incorporating security, compliance and performance considerations into solution design
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence across business and technology
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to partner effectively with business design and customer experience teams
