This is a fixed-term contract.
What you'll be doing:

- Conducting user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions to continuously iterate and improve your designs
- Collaborating with product managers, developers, and fellow designers across agile squads to deliver winning customer experiences
- Working across the full design lifecycle, from discovery through to delivery on products and services that genuinely impact people's lives
- Staying ahead of industry trends, design tools, and emerging technologies to keep your work fresh and effective
- 3+ years' experience as a UX/UI Designer with a strong portfolio that demonstrates user-centred design thinking
- A relevant degree in design or a related field
- Proficiency in Figma (this is their design tool of choice)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills and you'll be working closely with cross-functional teams
- Experience or comfort working in agile environments
- A genuine passion for understanding users and designing solutions that make their lives easier
Front-end development experience is a bonus but not essential.
What's in it for you?
- Be part of a culture that values openness, ownership, and experimentation
- Work on meaningful projects that directly impact New Zealanders' digital experiences
- Join an inclusive organisation where you can truly be yourself and do your best work
- Access to excellent employee benefits including product discounts, comprehensive medical and insurance cover, and exclusive deals with NZ retailers
- The opportunity to grow your craft alongside talented designers, researchers, and product teams
If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, we'd love to hear from you. Please ensure your application includes a portfolio or case studies that clearly show:
The context and challenge you were working on (e.g. a product, platform, or part of a journey)
- Your thinking process and approach
- The quality of your design work
- Where possible, the outcomes or impact of your work
