About the Role
This is a leadership role, not a senior IC position. You'll own the design function end-to-end defining design direction, standards, and the quality bar across the product.
Reporting directly to the Co-Founder & CPTO, you'll be trusted to make strategic design decisions, partner cross-functionally with engineering and product teams, and be hands-on in shipping the highest-stakes workflows.
A key focus? Designing AI-first workflows creating safe, legible, and controllable human + AI interaction patterns that users can trust.
What You'll Be Doing
- Defining design direction and quality across the product
- Leading cross-functional UX direction, scope, and trade-offs
- Designing human + AI interaction patterns, including verification and failure states
- Owning end-to-end UX on high-stakes flows—from concept to shipped UI
- Co-leading product discovery alongside product and engineering
- Evolving the design system and core patterns in collaboration with engineering
- Mentoring and growing the design team as the company scales
- Proven experience leading meaningful design work and owning a product area or major initiative
- A track record of shipping complex, stateful B2B workflows (multi-step flows, permissions, edge cases)
- Strong judgement in AI UX you've designed and shipped AI-assisted experiences where trust, transparency, and recovery are crucial
- Deep partnership skills with engineering teams, with an understanding of front-end realities (React, component systems)
- Excellence in interaction architecture, information architecture, flows, states, and error handling
- Ability to mentor, run critique, and raise the team's quality bar
- Operate as a product co-owner, reframing problems and driving product decisions
- Have led a design function previously
- Strengthen the design-engineering system with technical fluency
- Possess exceptional UX judgement and obsess over clarity in high-stakes workflows
- Bring a technical foundation (CS, HCI background advantageous)
