Cub Digital don't talk about what they do for most of their clients. But if you've watched New Zealand perform on the world stage in sport, in finance, in the arenas that matter there's a good chance their data was in the room.

The role

AI Data Engineer.
 
The stack is AWS-anchored 

• RAG pipelines
• Vector stores
• dbt
• ETL/ELT
• Python, with AI tooling like Claude Code and Cursor embedded in daily workflow.

You'll be part of the full conversation. From the moment a client problem is being shaped, through to the point where the work has measurably changed something. No handoffs. No one else taking the credit for what you built.
 
The environment

You'll work directly alongside the co-founders. Five days in the office. 
Short feedback loops and high standards. The kind of environment where ideas don't wait for a meeting, feedback is immediate, and the thinking goes deep.
 
Who you are

You've consistently delivered in environments where the brief was incomplete, the timeline was tight, and the outcome still had to be right.
You read rooms as well as you read data. When you're in a conversation with a client, with the team, on a complex problem your presence shifts something. 
You probably read more than most people in your field. Not just technical documentation, actual books. 
You're not just looking for a seat at the table; you actually want to help build what's on it.
The technical bar is high but not rigid. Knowledge is acquirable. What you add is unique.
