The role
* Build and support backend services using Java or Node.js 
* Develop and maintain integration solutions using IBM Messenger Broker / IIB (ACE) 
* Design and integrate APIs (REST/JSON) and supporting services 
* Contribute to automated testing (unit/integration/acceptance) and quality practices 
* Work with CI/CD and containerised environments (tooling depends on team) 
* Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver change safely

Your fit
* Commercial experience in Java and/or Node.js engineering 
* Strong experience with IBM Messenger Broker / IBM Integration Bus / App Connect Enterprise 
* Solid understanding of messaging patterns, queues, and integration design 
* API integration experience (REST; exposure to SOAP/XML is useful) 
* Comfortable working with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) 
* A practical, team-first approach — you communicate clearly and take ownership
