The role
This is a bit different to your typical frontend role. You’ll be coming into a niche business that’s building out a new internal platform to manage and automate their product ordering pipeline out of China. It’s closely tied to supplier coordination, container logistics, and overall visibility across the supply chain. You’ll take the lead on the frontend using React and TypeScript, but this isn’t just about building UI components. You’ll be involved in how the application is structured, how it evolves, and how it scales over time. There’s some UX direction in place, but a lot of this will still need to be built out. You’ll be working closely with stakeholders across the business to translate requirements into something practical and usable. The plan is to build internally first, test with a small group, then scale it out more broadly.

The environment
This is a new function within the business. No established engineering team, no layers. You’ll need to be comfortable working with a fair bit of autonomy, making decisions, and figuring things out as you go. It suits someone who enjoys that kind of ownership rather than being boxed into a narrow role.

What they’re looking for

• 5+ years working with React and TypeScript in a frontend-focused role
• Strong experience with React Hooks and state management (Redux, Context API, or Zustand)
• Experience with React Query, form handling (React Hook Form), and modern styling approaches
• Solid understanding of frontend architecture, performance, and API integration (REST)
• Exposure to testing (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress)
• Familiarity with cloud environments and CI/CD

Nice to have

• Experience building end-to-end applications
• Exposure to AI integration within products
• Familiarity with protocols like Google Protocol or Universal Commerce Protocol
• Experience designing systems that can scale from internal tools to broader products
