Cloud Information Protection Engineer (M365 & Azure)
About the role
Why you would like it:
- Own information protection across M365 and Azure end-to-end
- Hands on with Microsoft Purview: DLP, labels, retention, records
- Work closely with security, privacy, legal and the wider business
- Meaningful environment where good governance genuinely matters
- Mix of project work and steady state operational improvement
The Opportunity:
This role sits at the centre of how information is protected and governed across Microsoft 365 and Azure. You’ll design and run the controls that keep data secure, compliant, and usable, covering everything from retention and records management to sensitivity labels and DLP.
You’ll be working with a wide range of stakeholders (Cybersecurity, Records, Privacy, Legal and business teams), so you’ll need to be comfortable translating technical controls into clear outcomes and guardrails people can actually follow. It’s a role for someone who likes solving practical governance problems and leaving an environment in a better state than they found it.
Company Profile:
You’ll be joining a large, purpose-led organisation with a strong focus on service, collaboration, and doing the right thing with information. The technology environment is Microsoft-centric (M365/Azure) with a clear need for strong, well run information protection practices.
The Role:
- Design, configure and administer M365/Azure information protection capabilities
- Implement records classification, retention schedules and disposal policies (Purview)
- Build and manage sensitivity labels and DLP policies across M365 workloads
- Monitor and improve services for reliability, security and compliance
- Maintain documentation, standards and operational procedures
- Partner with Cybersecurity, Records, Privacy, Legal and business stakeholders
Your Fit:
- Currently working in a cloud, Microsoft 365, or information security engineering roles
- Exprience with Microsoft Purview (records, retention, labels, DLP)
- Solid M365 administration capability and good grounding in Azure/identity services
- Practical understanding of information governance, privacy and compliance
- Clear communicator who can bring stakeholders along for the journey
- Comfortable owning documentation and improving operational maturity
- Relevant degree and/or equivalent commercial experience
Final Line:
If you’re keen to own information protection outcomes across M365 and Azure, apply now.
