Why now

The business is managing increasing delivery demand across customer projects while continuing to develop and evolve its own hardware and software products.

As the number of projects and potential products has grown, testing load has steadily increased. Bottlenecks are appearing and current QA practices are no longer fit for purpose. Automation is limited and the lack of clear QA ownership is impacting delivery flow. Here’s your chance to design best fit practices and execute a new automation driven approach, mapping to AI-first tooling over time.

This role is still an execution role, but has also been created to take ownership of QA planning and practices, implement improved tooling and automation.

Your role

This is a hands-on Senior QA Engineer role operating close to the work, focused on delivering outcomes across projects and product development.

You will own QA practices across customer and internal initiatives, including driving the shift to automation and AI tooling, maintaining QA plans, managing test results with engineering, and surfacing risks early.

You will support release cycles including planning, UAT coordination, and readiness for customer deployment, working closely with engineering and delivery to ensure releases are stable and issues are addressed before they reach customers.

Initially you will manage testing across two to three concurrent hardware and software projects, scaling as demand grows. You will also support vendor and customer compliance requirements where needed.

The fit

You come from a hands-on quality engineering background within a product-led technology business. You may have worked as a QA Engineer, Test Automation Engineer, or SDET, ideally in environments delivering combined hardware and software solutions.

You bring strong automation capability across UI, API, or integration layers, understand CI/CD integration, and are comfortable working alongside engineers in shared codebases. Android exposure and familiarity with frameworks such as Espresso, Appium, Selenium, or Playwright are desirable.

You understand shift-left testing and are engaged with AI-assisted QA approaches. You are technically curious, self-directed, and comfortable taking ownership of quality in a scaling business.
