The Opportunity

This role suits a Systems Engineer who enjoys being close to customers and wants to be valued for both technical capability and judgement. You’ll support a portfolio of mid-sized organisations - solving problems properly (not repeatedly), delivering small-to-medium infrastructure changes, and helping clients plan what “good” looks like for their environment. 

You’ll be the person clients trust to explain options clearly, keep things moving, and spot risks early - whether that’s around identity, backup, security fundamentals, or cloud/virtualisation.

The Role

• Provide desktop and server support with a “fix it once” mindset 
• Deliver small desktop/infrastructure projects end-to-end 
• Build strong client relationships through regular communication and follow-up 
• Review client environments and contribute to technology roadmaps 
• Maintain accurate documentation, client records, and reporting inputs 
• Manage time across support, onsite work, and project delivery targets 
• Identify service improvement opportunities and feed them through internally 

Your Fit

• Experience in a Systems Engineer 
• Strong Microsoft fundamentals: AD, Exchange, SQL Server (exposure level OK) 
• Solid endpoint deployment/support (desktop/laptop) experience 
• Working knowledge of LAN/WAN, switching/routing fundamentals 
• Understanding of virtualisation and cloud concepts 
• Familiar with firewalling and core security principles 
• Confident communicator who can build credibility with customers
