This is a DevOps Engineer role within a fast-growing cloud platform team in Christchurch.
You’ll join a collaborative, delivery-focused team working on modern cloud infrastructure, automation, and deployment pipelines. This role suits someone who enjoys combining hands-on engineering with opportunities to influence architecture, improve operational practices, and work closely with development teams and external partners.
For this role you must be based in Christchurch, with an office-first approach (Monday–Friday) and a supportive, team-oriented environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop, enhance, and maintain infrastructure-as-code platforms (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
- Automate deployment, configuration, and operational pipelines
- Contribute to the infrastructure roadmap, leveraging cloud platforms, containerisation, and service-oriented architectures
- Ensure high system reliability, observability, and security for production environments
- Collaborate closely with development teams to improve functionality, performance, and deployment practices
- Support CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting frameworks
- Experienced in cloud platforms (AWS is strongly preferred) with infrastructure-as-code and containerisation (Docker)
- Comfortable with Linux administration, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools
- Strong communicator with a collaborative mindset and curiosity to learn
- Bonus points for RDBMS experience (PostgreSQL, etc.) or exposure to Java/.NET
- Work on cloud infrastructure and DevOps products that directly support business-critical applications
