The opportunity

This is a chance to join the Transformation and Technology team in a data leadership role, taking the reins of the enterprise-wide data function and enabling Silver Fern Farms to make better use of its data assets and tools. Your leadership will promote data as a core pillar of transformation, empower teams, inform strategy and create long-term value. You’ll balance governance with enablement; maintaining robust platforms, delivering effective reporting to inform decision-making and encouraging adoption of new technologies, ultimately translating innovation into measurable results that align with business objectives.

Responsibilities will include:

• Lead, coach, and develop the data team ensuring they are setup for success.
• Build trusted relationships organisation-wide and promote data-driven decision making.
• Define and deliver the enterprise data strategy and roadmap, aligning to business priorities.
• Establish and mature data governance, quality, and stewardship practices.
• Uplift data literacy and enterprise adoption of analytics and AI.
• Identify, prioritise, and deliver data products and solutions that create value.

This position can be based from Head Office in Dunedin, or the Christchurch Hub.

Your fit

You will have previously led teams through significant data transformations and thrive if you can also bring the agility to pivot as required, whilst maintaining delivery cadence. Alongside 5+ years leading data focused tech teams, you’ll have deep expertise in data governance, architecture, engineering and analytics. Strong commercial acumen, stakeholder engagement and executive influencing skills will come naturally, and you’ll have proven ability to translate data into measurable outcomes that align with strategic objectives. You’ll be passionate about leading and growing high performing teams and have demonstrable experience aligning business and technology functions to best leverage data to enable growth, innovation and resilience.
