The Opportunity:

Lead the function that powers enterprise applications, integrations, software engineering, and data for a large organisation in the education sector. You’ll set direction, lift delivery practice, and ensure services are stable, secure, and evolving. Partner across business, research, teaching, and student services to prioritise roadmaps, mature Agile and CI/CD, and land outcomes through a mix of in-house and vendor delivery. With active investment in digital uplift and data enablement, you’ll standardise engineering, strengthen integration capability, and foster continuous improvement. You’ll play a visible role in governance, disaster recovery/business continuity, and vendor management to support resilience and long-term value.

The Role:

• Directly lead a Data & Development team of 12+  
• Guide software development, integration, and data practices
• Ensure availability and performance of core applications and data flows
• Own roadmaps, standards, source control, SDLC, and secure-by-design
• Champion Agile, DevOps, CI/CD and fit-for-purpose tooling
• Plan and resource technical delivery across projects and BAU
• Govern vendor relationships, contracts, and SLAs
• Manage budgets; contribute to digital strategy and planning

Your fit:

• Senior people leader across development and data/integration
• Proven in large/complex environments with meaningful delivery outcomes
• Strong stakeholder management and communication
• Hands-on with modern engineering across APIs, ETL, and cloud
• Familiar with ITIL/COBIT and project delivery frameworks
