We’re on the lookout for a junior to intermediate-level Graphic Designer (or Production Designer) to join the talented team at BRANZ on a short-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to high-impact design work while supporting a collaborative, purpose-driven organisation.
About BRANZ
BRANZ (Building Research Association of New Zealand) is an independent, research-based organisation that works to improve the performance of New Zealand's buildings. Through science-led research, product testing, and trusted publications like Build magazine, BRANZ informs the building and construction industry, government, and the public, ultimately helping to create healthier, more resilient homes and communities across Aotearoa.
What you’ll be doing:
This role is a mix of template-driven design and production work, with opportunities to contribute to a wide range of materials from the well-known Build magazine to social media content and internal communications.
Upcoming tasks include:
- Designing layouts for Build magazine (Issue 207)
- Updating content for Build Online
- Creating PowerPoint presentations and board paper layouts
- Supporting monthly e-newsletters and internal comms
- Assisting with social media content, including basic video editing
What we’re looking for:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Comfortable with template-based work and working within brand guidelines
- Experience using Mailchimp for newsletters
- Solid skills in PowerPoint and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Teams, SharePoint)
- Experience managing web content and supporting social media channels
- Bonus: basic video shooting/editing skills
