The role
* Define and prioritise platform initiatives based on cross-team dependencies and business impact
* Collaborate closely with data engineers to balance technical feasibility with business requirements 
* Guide infrastructure decisions around cloud architecture, security, and compliance
* Champion automation and CI/CD practices for reliable data pipeline deployment
* Work with technical customers to understand evolving platform needs and enable self-service
* Evaluate and integrate new tools and frameworks to keep the platform current
* Manage vendor relationships with deep technical knowledge backing conversations
* Drive cost optimisation initiatives across cloud resources and platform components
Your fit
* Strong understanding of modern data platform architecture and cloud-native design
* Hands-on experience with tools like Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Terraform, and Azure
* Track record of working effectively with highly technical teams and stakeholders
* Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment practices
* Knowledge of data security best practices and regulatory compliance requirements
* Background in platform reliability, monitoring, and observability tools
* Ability to assess technical trade-offs and communicate impact to business stakeholders
* Experience managing cloud costs and optimising resource usage
