Deliverables / Purpose
You’ll sit at the critical intersection of business strategy, design, and delivery—bringing architectural rigour to a substantial programme of work.
- This role blends business architecture and solution leadership, requiring you to engage closely with technical teams and vendors while maintaining a strong focus on business value.
- You’ll be responsible for:
- Designing future-state operating models and enhancing capability frameworks
- Advising programme leaders on strategic alignment, governance structures, and modernisation trade-offs
- Providing guidance across systems, processes, services, and regulatory initiatives
- Supporting and challenging implementation teams to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions under real-world constraints
Contract Details
- 2-year fixed term contract
- Wellington CBD-based, with flexible working arrangements available
- Work alongside programme leads, vendors, ICT teams, and business stakeholders
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years’ architecture experience, including 2–3 years focused on business architecture
- TOGAF certification (or equivalent) and practical use of EA frameworks
- Proven track record of modernising systems and processes under budgetary constraints
- Broad ICT knowledge – systems, integration patterns, data flows, and business process design
- Experience in complex or highly regulated environments (e.g., public sector, finance, healthcare)
- Strong capability in designing operating models, stakeholder alignment, and roadmap planning
- A structured approach to problem-solving with the ability to clarify ambiguity
- Excellent communicator – able to translate technical ideas into business language and vice versa
- Influential, pragmatic, and committed to architectural integrity
