Senior Network Engineer
Are you a highly skilled Network Engineer looking for an opportunity to work on one of New Zealand’s biggest network projects? We’re searching for a proactive and forward-thinking Senior Network Engineer to join a large organisation delivering essential services to the community.

About the role
You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing a complex enterprise network, with a focus on deploying the latest technologies to future-proof infrastructure. A significant refresh of Cisco infrastructure is currently underway, offering an opportunity to shape a large-scale data network for years to come.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning, configuring, deploying, and supporting all aspects of the organisation’s data network
• Project delivery, implementing solutions that meet business needs and enhance service reliability
• Monitoring and managing network performance, ensuring high availability and meeting service targets
• Applying cybersecurity best practices, including working with various firewall vendors
• Network administration, maintaining accurate records, and driving continuous improvements

About you
To thrive in this role, you will bring:

• Proven experience as a Senior Network Engineer
• A tertiary qualification in IT or a similar technical discipline
• Extensive experience in layer 2 and layer 3 networking, including enterprise WiFi networks
• Deep Cisco IOS knowledge and familiarity with other vendor tools, such as packet analyzers and network management platforms
• Strong background in network security and firewall management
• The ability to take a strategic view, balancing day-to-day operations with long-term planning
