Role Purpose:
As a Platform Engineer, you’ll be the backbone of The Energy Collective’s dynamic cloud-based operations optimising the GitLab platform to supercharge software delivery. Reporting to the GM Technology, you’ll focus on driving efficiency, reliability, and innovation across our delivery pipelines. Your work will foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence, and ensure Electric Kiwi’s tech stays at the forefront of the industry
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimise the GitLab platform to enhance efficiency, speed, and reliability in software delivery.
- Define and monitor Service Levels, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Utilise GitLab data to create comprehensive reports and insights across the software delivery lifecycle.
- Focus on segments of the DevSecOps infinity loop to implement incremental improvements.
- Streamline CI/CD pipelines and automate processes to optimise software delivery performance.
- Provide guardrails to software delivery teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and progression toward Elite DORA metrics.
- Communicate findings and solutions effectively through reports, dashboards, and documentation.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing through code reviews, training sessions, and documentation.
- Enhance the GitLab platform to support seamless and high-performance software delivery.
- Achieve and maintain defined Service Levels, ensuring consistent and reliable service delivery.
- Drive efficiency and effectiveness in software delivery processes through targeted improvements.
- Deliver data-driven insights that lead to informed decision-making and strategic improvements.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging data and automation.
- A strong motivation to make a meaningful impact.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience or strong DevOps developer experience.
- Experience in optimising platforms like GitLab.
- Proficiency in Python, Terraform, JavaScript, Angular, Docker, GraphQL, and SQL.
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices and the DevSecOps infinity loop.
- Experience in creating and analysing data-driven reports and insights.
- Ability to define, monitor, and achieve Service Levels aligned with business objectives.
- Proven track record in optimising software delivery performance.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts effectively.
- Strong collaboration, team work, and a curious and adaptable mindset.
- Experience using LLM models and Gen AI APIs.
- Familiarity with Elite DORA performance metrics and strategies to achieve them.
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
- Understanding of DevSecOps principles and their integration into pipelines.
- Commitment to continuous learning and understanding of agile principles.
