Contract: 6 months

We are seeking an experienced Test Lead to join our client's team working on a high-impact project across Councils and Public Services. This is an initial 6-month contract based in Wellington.
Responsibilities:
- Test Strategy Development: Design and implement comprehensive test strategies to ensure all functional and non-functional requirements are met.
- Test Planning: Develop detailed test plans, including schedules, resources, and milestones, ensuring alignment with project timelines.
- Test Execution: Oversee and participate in the execution of test cases, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
- Defect Management: Track, report, and manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle, working closely with development teams for resolution.
- Automation: Identify opportunities for test automation and lead the implementation of automated test scripts and frameworks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with a team of 8-10 alongside vendors and additional resources, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Consultation: Provide hands-on testing and direction, as well as consultative advice across all parties involved.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices, continuously improving testing processes and methodologies.
- Reporting: Generate and present detailed test reports, highlighting key metrics, issues, and risks to stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Test Lead in similar projects, with a strong background in test strategy, planning, and execution.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in various testing tools and frameworks, with hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing.
- Risk Management: Strong knowledge of testing practices and risk management, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Communication: Excellent communication and consultative skills, capable of effectively interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, fostering positive working relationships.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
Urgency: The deadline for this project has been moved forward, and we require someone who can start immediately.
