The opportunity

This Fintech business is undergoing transformation and growth, introducing a new product catalogue and platforms to capture new customer segments. The new Head of Tech Operations will drive the company's technology operations strategy, ensuring robust and scalable systems to support the business scaling growth. Guiding efforts to enhance and modernize the existing operational technology, retiring obsolete systems and creating future-ready technology is the remit of this position. By ensuring seamless integration of this environment with product development and cloud and infrastructure systems, you will build efficiency and effectiveness across the company's OT.  A blend of in-house team members and vendors will be at your disposal with an OT strategy ready to be built.  Ultimately this will deliver exceptional customer experiences through smart, future-proof design and a capable team that is fit to run and operate a mission-critical environment.

Your role

As the Head of Tech Operations, you will be responsible for the following key areas:

TECH OPS LEADERSHIP: Champion contemporary infrastructure and platform strategies. Conduct research and analysis for informed strategic decisions. Develop and implement planning models and robust technology systems. Build strong relationships with peers, partners, and customers.

PEOPLE LEADERSHIP: Lead and develop a team of 6+ professionals in delivery, analysis, and operations. Foster an empathetic, customer-centric ethic through accountability, motivation, and growth. 

DELIVERY LEADERSHIP: Orchestrate major large scale projects, including infrastructure and automation initiatives, oversee budgets and provide direction for team members.  Provide systematic predictability of issues and delivery milestones.

PORTFOLIO GOVERNANCE: Oversee special projects and maintain existing systems. Optimize legacy systems and services for better performance. Ensure achievement of key success metrics within tech operations.

  • Creating predictable delivery of technology services and leadership of cross-functional teams.
  • Change management of core infrastructure, cloud ecosystems, and SLA management.
  • Bridging communication gaps between tech teams, other departments, and executives.
  • Demonstrating analytical thinking, adaptability, and empathy to understand and meet the business’s needs while exceeding customer expectations.
  • Engaging a commercial mindset and the ability to convey complex technological concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
