The opportunity:

While you wouldn't traditionally think of this business as an IT powerhouse, the software environment is crucial to day to day operations and is a complex and sophisticated machine. With a number of projects in the pipeline (heavily focussed on business process automation) the IT team is humming and a real opportunity exists for a passionate data superstar to take ownership of optimising and improving business process through data and analytics. This role will work across the business (think operations, finance and IT all the way through to senior C-level management) meaning there is opportunity galore and the chance to effect real change within the organisation. Role snapshot:

On the day to day you'll provide the business with accurate and timely data to assist a range of diverse stakeholders, help improve the quality of the data captured and the method in which it is reported and create or develop tools to make real time decisions (think dashboarding, visualisations and process optimisation). You'll also help the organisation grow its use of business intelligence, removing its reliance on bespoke reporting through automation and work with senior leadership to shape business processes from a data standpoint.

Reporting into the finance team means your analysis will have a commercial flavour however you will also work closely with the IT team and senior management. In a nutshell you will strive to understand business challenges and provide creative solutions. Your work solving problems through data will make peoples' lives easier as a result. 


To be successful in this position you will require the following:  
  • 2-4 years experience in a similar Data Analyst role 
  • Strong data processing, manipulation and reporting skills in Excel and SQL
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Experience with IBM Cognos preferred but not essential 
  • R, Python, Tableau or Power BI experience beneficial 
  • Strong business/commercial acumen a must 
  • Experience in commercial/financial analyst role or manufacturing/warehouse/logistics exposure beneficial 
  • Experience gathering requirements and ability to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders 
  • A hungry problem solver, not afraid to dive deep and ask why
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
