The opportunity:
This position will suit an impassioned data guru who likes to explore new technologies, work closely with internal customers and solve difficult problems. With a genuinely exciting technology journey planned over the next few years, you'll work with the current data team to maintain and migrate existing data related applications while also helping move forward into the purpose built Azure based data platform.
With a number of key leaders recently brought into the business to specifically drive these changes, the technology landscape is ripe for data transformation and there is no shortage of diverse and challenging projects to sink your teeth into.
Role snapshot:
On the day to day you'll lead by example carrying out technical leadership and guidance on key data engineering deliverables. This will include a number of key responsibilities such as the creation of new Azure build and deploy CI/CD pipelines, enhancing existing Azure data reporting pipelines, fully automating test scripts for deployment of cloud infrastructure and R or Python coding to enhance data processing.
You'll also love vocally promoting these new technologies and best practice methods to help others in the organisation understand and realise the value they bring. Alongside the cool new tech and innovation projects you'll also debug existing C# applications and work writing and consuming web services and API technologies.
To be successful in this position you will require the following:
- Solid experience using Azure services (ideally Azure App Service, Azure SQL, Azure Service Fabric, Azure Storage Account, Databricks, LogicApps, PowerShell)
- ARM template writing and automation
- Understanding of load balancers, DNS, virtual networks and firewalls in cloud environments
- Strong experience developing, managing and building CI/CD pipelines and environments
- Experience building and maintaining C# integrations and applications, capable with MS SQL, Visual Studio and SSIS
- Ability to translate business requirements into data driven solution design and development
- A hungry problem solver, not afraid to dive deep and ask why
- Good communication skills, ability to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders, a collaborative team player
